The Reentry Program’s mission is to enhance public safety by bringing together the public and private resources of Douglas County to help persons incarcerated successfully re-enter our community as accountable, contributing, self-sufficient and law-abiding citizens.

Intensive Case Management Services
(180 days Post-Release)
Reentry Intensive Case Management
- All offenders by request or referral. Short-term goal directed case management
- Focus is on resource acquisition: Medications, Mental Health or Substance Abuse Treatment, Transportation, Employment, Housing, Identification
- Post-Release: until goal completion, follow-up calls as needed
- Serving Sentence more than 30 days
- Douglas County, Kansas Resident
- All cases must have reached disposition
- No detainers or warrants
Reentry Programming
Programs at the Douglas County Correctional Facility (DCCF) began when the building opened in 1999
- 45+ programs weekly
- 70+ community volunteers
- Community Cognitive Behavioral Program
- Programs are in collaboration with Douglas County Community Corrections (DCCC) and Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC)

Bert Nash has been providing mental health services in the DCCF since 2001, including:
- Screening and Assessment
- Psychiatric Treatment
- Reentry Case Management
- Assess-Identify-Divert - Clinical Case Management Program
